Jay is a member of The Guelph Arts Council and Theatre Ontario.

Summer 2018 Jay produced and directed Mary’s Wedding by Stephen Massicotte for Guelph Museums’ Backyard Theatre Project at McCrae House.
In 2017 Jay wrote, produced and directed, “Guelph In Postcards – The McCrae Years 1872-1918” for the Guelph Museum.
2016 saw the creation of The Elocutioner a one-man show for The Guelph Fringe Festival. Jay also worked as an actor for Theatre By The Bay (Barrie ON) in their production of “We Must Have More Men – The Story of Barrie During The Great War” It was this production that rekindled Jay’s interest in historical drama.
Since 2010, Jay has directed Pandora’s Sox a one man theatre company with puppets. Highlights include the creation of 5 shows for seniors, 3 shows for children. With this one-person operation, Jay is responsible for the artistic products (scripts, puppets, sets, costumes, music) as well as the managing the business (marketing, sales, tour logistics, accounting). Milestone: two tours of the Ottawa area in conjunction with the Puppets Up International Puppet Festival held in Almonte ON each August.
Upon graduation with a B.A. in Drama and Theatre Arts from the University of Waterloo, Jay collaborated with Echo-Logical Theatre to create “Healthspell" and "The Water Safety Show".
Jay was Company Manager for The National Tap Dance Company of Canada (1981-1984), touring most major theatre centres throughout Canada, the United States and Bermuda.
1989-1993 Jay designed and implemented a mobile stage project for the Ontario Lottery Corporation. The mobile stage was featured prominently at such events as Toronto’s Caribana and Ottawa’s Winterlude.
From 1997-1998 Jay was special projects developer with The Gravenhurst Opera House.
For 8 years (1999-2007) Jay was Marketing and Development Associate with Theatre Collingwood, a professional equity company producing primarily summer theatre seasons.
